Le récit and the exhibition Spurensicherung (1974), curated by Günter Metken at the Hamburger Kunstverein (Le Gac was not represented in this exhibition), inspired Uwe Schneede to organize a solo exhibition with the artist in Hamburg in the Documenta year 1977 (Le Gac, Der Maler). The catalog (an artist's book by Le Gac) for this exhibition was produced by Paul Lebeer in Brussels. A special edition with some original documents was also produced by bookbinder Christian Zwang in Hamburg.
