Umarmungen ... / Embraces – Anna Oppermann's Ensemble ''Umarmungen, Unerklärliches und eine Gedichtzeile von R.M.R.'', 1998

In 1991, an exhibition project took place at the museum in Lüneburg, planned and realized by teachers and students from Leuphana University. Anna Oppermann was one of the invited artists and contributed her “Friduttchen” ensemble. This meeting gave rise to the idea of attempting to document her highly complex, fragile, ephemeral work using the methods of computer science and art history that Martin Warnke and Carmen Wedemeyer had the opportunity to introduce to her. The following year, in close consultation with the artist, the first versions of a digital archive of her ensemble “Umarmungen, Unerklaerliches und eine Gedichtzeile von R.M.R.” (Embraces, the inexplicable, and a line of poetry by R.M.R.) were created the XML standard PeTAL.

A hypermedia image and text archive of the ensemble “Umarmungen” (Embraces), Anna Oppermann und Carmen Wedemeyer (Eds.). With texts by Carmen Wedemeyer, Wolfgang Coy, Martin Warnke and Marianne Schuller. Format: 16,5 x 24,5 cm, Hard cover with CD. 54 pages with full-page color and black-and-white illustrations.

Edition Lebeer Hossmann and Stroemfeld/ Roter Stern.
